A RESOLUTION honoring the Rockcastle County High School cheerleaders, 2024 1 
National High School Cheerleading Championship, Super Large DII Non-Tumbling 2 
Game Day Division, National Champions. 3 
WHEREAS, the Rockcastle County High School (RCHS) Cheerleaders had an 4 
extremely accomplished 2023-2024 season, culminating in a national title; and  5 
WHEREAS, the RCHS Cheerleaders are coached by Joanie Lake and squad 6 
members include Ashleigh Abney, Bevin Baker, Lexi Burkhart, Allie Cable, Raychel 7 
Carpenter, Kathryn Coffey, Kayden Collins, Chelsea Cox, Sidney Doan, Brookelynn 8 
Dunn, Victoria Dykes, Jenna Eaton, Marley Gibson, Ally Hayes, Brooklyn Hebson, 9 
Brianna Hensley, Emma Hensley, Morgan Hocker, Lila Holt, Keathlee Justice, Alexis 10 
Martin, Kameryn Medley, Kovey Payne, Maggie Reynolds, Alivia Shepherd, Chloe 11 
Taylor, Bailey Terry, and Makena Weaver; and  12 
WHEREAS, the RCHS Cheerleaders were extremely competitive this season, 13 
placing as the runner-up in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) 14 
Cheer Region 6 Competition, and went on to place fifth in the KHSAA State Cheer 15 
Championship; and  16 
WHEREAS, the RCHS Cheerleaders also competed in the United Cheerleader 17 
Association's Bluegrass Regional competition, placing sixth overall and earning them a 18 
spot at the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida; and  19 
WHEREAS, the RCHS Cheerleaders competed in two divisions during the National 20 
High School Cheerleading Championship. It was RCHS cheerleading's first appearance at 21 
the competition since 1989; and  22 
WHEREAS, the RCHS Cheerleaders finished in third place in the Medium DII 23 
Non-Tumbling Traditional Division, and  24 
WHEREAS, the RCHS Cheerleaders were honored as national champions in the 25 
Super Large DII Non-Tumbling Game Day Division; and  26 
WHEREAS, the RCHS Cheerleaders have proved themselves to be among the best 27  UNOFFICIAL COPY  	24 RS BR 2407

cheerleaders in the nation and have shown dedication and passion for their sport 1 
throughout the 2023-2024 season, and their accomplishments deserve recognition; 2 
NOW, THEREFORE, 3 
Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of 4 
Kentucky: 5 
Section 1. The members of the Senate join Senator Brandon Storm in 6 
congratulating the Rockcastle County High School Cheerleaders and coach Joanie Lake, 7 
2024 National High School Cheerleading Championship, Super Large DII Non-Tumbling 8 
Game Day Division, National Champions, and wishing all team members, coaches, and 9 
staff good fortune in all future endeavors. 10 
Section 2.   The Clerk of the Senate shall transmit a copy of this Resolution to 11 
Senator Brandon Storm for presentation to the team. 12
