WATER/RESOURCES:  Provides for agricultural uses of surface water resources
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 9:1103, relative to riparian owner; to provide for the use of surface waters; to2
prohibit any fees charged by the state; and to provide for related matters.3
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:4
Section 1. R.S. 9:1103 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 5
ยง1103. Riparian owner; use of surface water; fees prohibited6
A riparian owner may authorize the use of the surface water adjacent to his7
riparian land for any agricultural purpose by non-riparian owner without restriction8
as to the form of any such agreement.  The state shall not charge any fee for such9
usage.10

Abstract: Allows a riparian owner to authorize agricultural use of surface water without
restriction as to form of agreement and prohibits the state from charging a fee for
such use. 
Proposed law provides riparian owner may authorize the use of the surface water adjacent
to his riparian land for any agricultural purpose by non-riparian owner without restriction
as to the form of any such agreement.  The state shall not charge any fee for such usage.
