SENATE BILL NO. 40
BY SENATOR LONG 
AN ACT1
To repeal R.S. 13:997 and Act No. 492 of the 1962 Regular Session of the Legislature,2
relative to the Natchitoches Parish Law Library Commission; to abolish such3
commission; to transfer the property, assets, and revenues of the commission to the4
Tenth Judicial District Court; and to provide for related matters.5
Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.6
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:7
Section 1. R.S. 13:997 and Act No. 492 of the 1962 Regular Session of the8
Legislature are hereby repealed in their entirety.9
Section 2. All books, papers, records, money, actions, revenues, and other property10
of every kind, movable and immovable, real and personal, heretofore possessed, controlled,11
or used by the Natchitoches Parish Law Library Commission are hereby transferred to the12
Tenth Judicial District Court upon the effective date of this Act.13
Section 3. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not14
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature15
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If16
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become17
effective on the day following such approval.18
