SPECIAL DISTRICTS. Provides relative to parcel fee renewal for the Lakeview Crime
Prevention District. (7/1/10)
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 33:9091.1(F)(3)(c)(ii), relative to Orleans Parish; to provide for2
renewal elections of parcel fees for the Lakeview Crime Prevention District; and to3
provide for related matters.4
Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 33:9091.1(F)(3)(c)(ii) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as7
follows: 8
ยง9091.1.  Lakeview Crime Prevention District9

F. Parcel fee. The governing authority of the city of New Orleans is hereby11
authorized to impose and collect a parcel fee within the district subject to and in12
accordance with the provisions of this Subsection:13

(ii) The fee may be renewed as provided in Subparagraph (3)(a) of this1
Subsection at a mayoral primary election an election held for that purpose in2
accordance with the Louisiana Election Code, subsequent to the 1998 mayoral3
primary election.4

Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2010.6

Present law provides that the parcel fee may be renewed at a mayoral primary election.
Proposed law changes present law to provide that the parcel fee may be renewed at an
election held for that purpose in accordance with the Louisiana Election Code.
Effective July 1, 2010.
