AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 33:9091.1(D)(1)(c), (d), (e), and (f) and (3)(a) and (F)(3)(c)(ii)2
and to repeal R.S. 33:9091.1 (D)(1)(g) and (h), relative to Orleans Parish; to provide3
for appointments to the board of commissioners of the Lakeview Crime Prevention4
District; to provide for elections relative to the levy and the renewal of a parcel fee5
in the district; to remove certain restrictions on renewing the fee; and to provide for6
related matters.7
Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published.8
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:9
Section 1. R.S. 33:9091.1(D)(1)(c), (d), (e), and (f) and (3)(a) and (F)(3)(c)(ii) are10
hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 11
ยง9091.1.  Lakeview Crime Prevention District12

D. Governance.  (1)  The district shall be governed by a board of14
commissioners consisting of eleven members as follows:15

(c) The member or members of the Louisiana House of Representatives who17
represent the area which comprises the district shall appoint one member two18
members.19
(d) The member or members of the Louisiana Senate who represent the area20
which comprises the district shall appoint one member two members.21
(e)  The assessor for the second municipal district shall appoint one member.22
(f) The assessor for the seventh municipal district shall appoint one member.23
(g) The mayor shall appoint one member.24
(h) (f) The council member or council members who represent the district25

shall appoint one member.1

(3)(a) The terms of the members appointed pursuant to Subparagraphs (1)(g)3
and (h) (1)(c), (d), (e), and (f) of this Subsection shall be concurrent with the4
respective appointing authority.5

F. Parcel fee. The governing authority of the city of New Orleans is hereby7
authorized to impose and collect a parcel fee within the district subject to and in8
accordance with the provisions of this Subsection:9

(ii) The fee may be renewed as provided in Subparagraph (3)(a) of this14
Subsection Paragraph at a mayoral primary election an election held for that15
purpose in accordance with the Louisiana Election Code. subsequent to the 199816
mayoral primary election.17

Section 2.  R.S. 33:9091.1(D)(1)(g) and (h) are hereby repealed in their entirety.19
Section 3. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2010; if vetoed by the governor20
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,21
2010, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later.22
