SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 4

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To urge and request the United States Army Corps of Engineers to exercise all available
options in the awarding of contacts for United States Army Corps of Engineers'
projects within the state of Louisiana to Louisiana companies, contractors, and
subcontractors and to report on a quarterly basis to the Louisiana Department of
Economic Development and Louisiana's Legislature the percentage of Louisiana
businesses receiving United States Army Corps of Engineers' contracts for projects
within Louisiana.
WHEREAS, in a region of this country still recovering from the greatest natural
disaster in our great country's history; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana like all other states is facing a difficult economic
environment; and
WHEREAS, the physical conditions and environment of Louisiana require
professionals with hands-on experience working in such conditions and environment; and
WHEREAS, there exists numerous qualified Louisiana companies, contractors, and
subcontractors that seek to work Corps' projects.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
urge and request the United States Army Corps of Engineers to exercise all available options
in the awarding of contracts for United States Army Corps of Engineers' projects within the
state of Louisiana to Louisiana companies, contractors, and subcontractors and to report on
a quarterly basis to the Louisiana Department of Economic Development and Louisiana's
Legislature the percentage of Louisiana businesses receiving United States Army Corps of
Engineers' contracts for projects within Louisiana. SCR NO. 4	ENROLLED

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
United States Army Corps of Engineers' headquarters and to all members of Louisiana's
congressional delegation.
