AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 14:95(H), relative to the crime of illegal carrying of weapons;2
to provide for an exception for justices or judges of federal courts domiciled in3
Louisiana; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 14:95(H) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 6
ยง95.  Illegal carrying of weapons7

H. The provisions of this Section shall not prohibit active justices or judges9
of the supreme court, courts of appeal, district courts, parish courts, juvenile courts,10
family courts, city courts, federal courts domiciled in the state of Louisiana, and11
traffic courts, constables, coroners, district attorneys and designated assistant district12
attorneys, United States attorneys and assistant United States attorneys and13
investigators, and justices of the peace from possessing and concealing a handgun14
on their person when the justice or judge, constable, coroner, district attorneys and15
designated assistant district attorneys, United States attorneys and assistant United16 ENROLLEDHB NO. 14

States attorneys and investigators, or justices of the peace are certified by the1
Council on Peace Officer Standards and Training.2
