AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 37:2167.1(A) and to repeal R.S. 37:2157(A)(6), relative to2
contractors; to provide for inactive licenses; to repeal the exemption to the state3
licensing requirement for contractors bidding work partially funded by the federal4
government; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 37:2167.1(A) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:7
ยง2167.1. Inactive license8
A. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, any9
residential building contractor licensee in good standing with the board who has held10
a license to engage in residential building construction issued pursuant to this11
Chapter for not less than fifteen one consecutive years year may elect to place his12
license in an inactive license status with the board, provided he applies for a transfer13
to inactive status.14

Section 2. R.S. 37:2157(A)(6) is hereby repealed in its entirety.16
