ENROLLED Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2011 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 165 BY REPRESENTATIVE GALLOT AND SENATOR WALSWORTH A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To commend James Trellis and Nellie Simmons Taylor of Haynesville upon the celebration of their sixtieth wedding anniversary. WHEREAS, upon the occasion of their sixtieth wedding anniversary on June 16, 2011, it is appropriate to recognize and commend James Trellis and Nellie Simmons Taylor; and WHEREAS, James Trellis and Nellie Simmons Taylor were married on June 16, 1951, in Shreveport, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, Mr. Taylor graduated from Atlanta High School, in Atlanta, Arkansas, and Mrs. Taylor attended school in Bryceland, Louisiana; after they got married, they moved to Shreveport and ultimately made their permanent home in Haynesville, where they have lived since 1962; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor share a host of accomplishments, but none has produced a greater sense of pride than their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor recently enjoyed a reception in their honor hosted by their daughters, Patty Pesnell and her husband Danny and Deena Burch and her husband Brad; their grandchildren, Kristy Campbell and her husband Luke, Dan Pesnell and his wife Amanda, Taylor Burch, Ashton Burch, and Amanda Burch; and their great-grandchildren, Barrett Campbell, Mallory Pesnell, and Maggie Pesnell; and WHEREAS, this special couple's commitment to each other is a beautiful example of lifelong love and devotion that is an inspiration to their entire community, and they have touched the lives of all who know and love them; and WHEREAS, the diamond wedding anniversary of the Taylors is a joyous and memorable occasion that merits sincere congratulations. ENROLLEDHCR NO. 165 Page 2 of 2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend James Trellis and Nellie Simmons Taylor of Haynesville upon the celebration of their sixtieth wedding anniversary, does hereby express enduring appreciation for the tremendous pride and honor they bring to their family, friends, community, and state, and does hereby extend very best wishes to this wonderful couple for continued happiness and richest blessings as they enjoy their future years together.
