ENROLLED Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2012 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 150 BY REPRESENTATIVE BURFORD AND SENATORS BUFFINGTON AND PEACOCK A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To commend the North DeSoto High School baseball team upon winning the 2012 Class 3A state championship. WHEREAS, the Griffins of the North DeSoto High School baseball team completed a sensational season when they earned the title of 2012 Class 3A state champions after defeating the Iowa High School Yellow Jackets by a score of seven to five at the thrilling championship game on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at McMurry Park in Sulphur; and WHEREAS, the historic and memorable victory marked the first Class 3A state baseball championship for the Griffins and the culmination of an unforgettable season; and WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence throughout the 2012 season and playoffs, and each of these great Griffins deserves recognition for his vital contributions to the winning effort; and WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of the team could not have been achieved without the guidance and skills of head coach Bo Odom as well as all of the other individuals who have contributed to the success of the school's baseball program; and WHEREAS, the team's outstanding 2012 season upholds the glorious tradition of the Griffins, and all North DeSoto alumni and fans recognize the immense pride and distinguished honor that the team brings to its school, community, and state. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend the North DeSoto High School baseball team upon winning the 2012 Class 3A state championship and does hereby extend best wishes to the players, coaches, and everyone involved with this fine baseball program as they celebrate their exceptional season and prepare for continued success in the future.
