HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 59
BY REPRESENTATIVE CARMODY
LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS:  Requires the House of Representatives and the Senate to
prominently display the most recently calculated amount of the total amount of
Unfunded Accrued Liability for the state retirement systems in the chamber of each
house and on the homepage of the joint legislative website
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To adopt Joint Rule No. 9 of the Joint Rules of the Senate and House of Representatives to2
require the most recently calculated amount of the Unfunded Accrued Liability to be3
displayed in the chamber of the House of Representatives and in the chamber of the4
Senate and on the homepage of the legislative website.5
BE IT RESOLVED by the Legislature of Louisiana that Joint Rule No. 9 of the Joint6
Rules of the Senate and House of Representatives is hereby adopted to read as follows:7
Joint Rule No. 9.  Unfunded Accrued Liability Display8
A. The speaker of the House of Representatives shall cause the most recently9
calculated amount of the total Unfunded Accrued Liability for the state retirement10
systems to be prominently displayed in the chamber of the House of Representatives.11
B. The president of the Senate shall cause the most recently calculated12
amount of the total Unfunded Accrued Liability for the state retirement systems to13
be prominently displayed in the chamber of the Senate.14
C. The presiding officers of the legislature shall cause the most recently15
calculated amount of the total Unfunded Accrued Liability for the state retirement16
systems to be prominently displayed on the homepage of the legislative website.17
D. For purposes of this Rule, the most recently calculated amount of the total18

of the values of the unfunded accrued liability of each state retirement system as1
determined by the latest actuarial valuation prepared by the system's actuary.2

Proposed Joint Rule requires the presiding officers to cause the most recently calculated
amount of the total Unfunded Accrued Liability for the state retirement systems to be
prominently displayed in the chamber of his respective house and on the homepage of the
legislative website. Provides that the most recently calculated amount of the total Unfunded
Accrued Liability for the state retirement systems shall be the aggregate of the values of the
unfunded accrued liability of each state retirement system as determined by the latest
actuarial valuation prepared by the system's actuary.
