HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 59
BY REPRESENTATIVE CARMODY
LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS:  Requires the House of Representatives and the Senate to
prominently display the most recently calculated amount of the total amount of
Unfunded Accrued Liability for the state retirement systems in the chamber of each
house and on the homepage of the joint legislative website
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To adopt Joint Rule No. 9 of the Joint Rules of the Senate and House of Representatives to2
require the most recently calculated amount of the Unfunded Accrued Liability to be3
displayed on the homepage of the legislative website.4
BE IT RESOLVED by the Legislature of Louisiana that Joint Rule No. 9 of the Joint5
Rules of the Senate and House of Representatives is hereby adopted to read as follows:6
Joint Rule No. 9.  Unfunded Accrued Liability Display7
A. The presiding officers of the legislature shall cause the most recently8
calculated amount of the total Unfunded Accrued Liability for the state retirement9
systems to be prominently displayed on the homepage of the legislative website with10
links to an explanation thereof and to pending legislation addressing it.11
B. For purposes of this Rule, the most recently calculated amount of the total12
Unfunded Accrued Liability for the state retirement systems shall be the aggregate13
of the values of the Unfunded Accrued Liability of each state retirement system as14
determined by the latest actuarial valuation prepared by the system's actuary.15 HLS 12RS-762	ENGROSSED

Proposed Joint Rule requires the presiding officers to cause the most recently calculated

Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on House and Governmental
Affairs to the original resolution.
1. Deletes provisions requiring each presiding officer to cause the most recently
calculated amount of the total Unfunded Accrued Liability for the state
retirement systems to be displayed in his respective chamber.
2. Adds provisions requiring that the display of the total Unfunded Accrued
Liability for the state retirement systems on the legislative website also include
links to an explanation thereof and to pending legislation addressing it.
