Abstract: Increases the membership of the Port of South La. Commission from seven members
to nine members.
Present law provides that the Port of South La. Commission shall be governed by a board of
seven members.
Proposed law adds two additional members appointed by the governor at his sole discretion.

Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
Committee Amendments Proposed by House Committee on Transportation, Highways and
Public Works to the original bill.
1. Removed a provision that increased the membership of the Port of South Louisiana
Commission from seven to eleven by adding three members appointed by the
governor and one at-large member.
2. Increased the number of members of the Port of South Louisiana Commission from
seven to nine by providing two additional members appointed by the governor at his
sole discretion.
3. Made technical changes.
