A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON
To recognize Wednesday, October 22, 2014, as Greaux Green with Greenbuild Day in the
state of Louisiana.
WHEREAS, Louisiana boasts hundreds of thousands of acres of natural wetlands,
forests, waterways, and ample sunshine; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana's flourishing tourism, seafood, agricultural, and cultural
industries attract millions of visitors a year to the state; and
WHEREAS, Louisianians take pride in conservation efforts to help preserve the
natural beauty the state has to offer for future generations of natives and visitors; and
WHEREAS, the Louisiana green building industry is committed to designing,
supplying, constructing, servicing, and operating healthier, more resource-efficient and
environmentally responsible buildings; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana businesses play a critical role in driving economic activity
that also supports the needs and interests of all Louisianians to preserve the state's rich
natural resources, ensure community health and prosperity, and advance every Louisianian's
opportunity to thrive; and
WHEREAS, beginning on October 22, 2014, the Louisiana Chapter of the United
States Green Building Council and its many businesses and partners are hosting the world's
largest conference and exposition dedicated to green building called the Greenbuild
International Conference and Expo; and
WHEREAS, Greenbuild 2014 expects to attract more than twenty-two thousand
people to Louisiana and result in a positive economic impact of greater than twenty-five

WHEREAS, Greenbuild 2014 is where tens of thousands of the leading green and
sustainable building professionals will gather to share ideas about how to invest in, design,
and build a cleaner, brighter future for generations to come; and
WHEREAS, Louisiana is open for business and investment by the green building
industry enterprises which can contribute to shaping a more sustainable and prosperous
Louisiana.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
recognize Wednesday, October 22, 2014, as Greaux Green with Greenbuild Day in the state
of Louisiana.
