AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 32:707(O), relative to the application for certificate of title of motor vehicles;2
to provide for requirement of certificate of title on a water damaged vehicle; and to3
provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 32:707(O) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 6
ยง707. Application for certificates of title; exception; salvage title; antique vehicles;7
reconstructed title8

(O) A vehicle whose power train, computer, or electrical system has10
sustained water damage, but does not meet the criteria for a salvaged vehicle or11
a certificate of destruction, shall be issued a branded title indicating the vehicle12
has sustained water damage. The department shall promulgate rules as are13
necessary to implement and enforce this Subsection.14
