HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 84

A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION
To authorize and direct the Louisiana State Law Institute to reorganize and recodify the
Miscellaneous Health Provisions Chapter of Title 40 of the Louisiana Revised
Statutes of 1950 in accordance with the specifications provided in this Resolution.
WHEREAS, Chapter 5 of Title 40 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, entitled
"Miscellaneous Health Provisions", is presently comprised of eighty-nine parts of law, the
majority of which are unrelated to each other; and
WHEREAS, these provisions can be termed "miscellaneous" only by virtue of their
inclusion within a single chapter of law; and
WHEREAS, this Chapter of law is no longer organized in an intentional manner; and
WHEREAS, the absence of a logical system of order in this Chapter perpetuates the
problem of disorganization in an area of law that has come to encompass many high-profile
and frequently revised statutes.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby
authorize and direct the Louisiana State Law Institute to reorganize and recodify the
Miscellaneous Health Provisions Chapter of Title 40 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of
1950.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Louisiana State Law Institute shall effect the
reorganization and recodification of the Chapter in accordance with the following
instructions:
Section 1. Redesignate Part XXVIII of Chapter 5 of Title 40 of the Louisiana
Revised Statutes of 1950, comprised of R.S. 40:1299.91, as R.S. 13:5108.2, and delete the
heading of the Part.
