HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 245
BY REPRESENTATIVE COX
A RESOLUTION
To commend April Mitchell Wade upon earning a doctorate of education degree.
WHEREAS, April Mitchell Wade merits a special measure of commendation upon
earning a doctorate of education degree; and
WHEREAS, in 2015, Ms. Wade graduated from the University of Phoenix with a
doctorate of education degree; and
WHEREAS, prior to obtaining a doctorate of education degree, Ms. Wade received
a bachelor of arts degree from Northwestern State University (NSU) in 1988, a master of
education degree from NSU in 1994, and an education specialist degree from NSU in 1999;
and
WHEREAS, she currently serves as the director of Head Start in Natchitoches and
DeSoto, and she has served as the director for Kiddie Courts Learning Center and Day Care
in Natchitoches and an elementary school teacher and a supervisor of student teachers at
M.R. Weaver Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Wade has worked diligently in her community; she served as the
facilitator for Youth Ablaze, the organizer for Toys for Tots, and a facilitator and volunteer
for Five Fold Conference; and
WHEREAS, she has been the recipient of many awards, including Who's Who
Among America's Teachers in 2000, the Linking the Early Childhood Award in 2001, the
Handicapped Sales Award in 2001, and the Champion of Young Children Award in 2011.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend April Mitchell Wade upon earning a
doctorate of education degree and does hereby wish her full measures of success and
happiness in the years to come.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to April Mitchell Wade.
