2017 Regular Session ENROLLED SENATE CONCURRENT RESOL UTION NO. 90 BY SENATOR THOMPSON AND REPRESENTATI VE CHANEY A CONCURRENT RESOL UTION To commend Dr. Linnea Eitmann upon earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Global Health Management and Policy from Tulane University. WHEREAS, Dr. Linnea Eitmann merits a special measure of commendation upon successfully completing all the academic and administrative requirements set forth by Tulane University's School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine; and WHEREAS, prior to obtaining her doctorate degree, she graduated from the College of William and Mary with a baccalaureate degree in Neuroscience and from Tulane University with a master's degree in International Health and Development; and WHEREAS, she is a native of Gig Harbor, Washington, but has made her home in New Orleans, Louisiana, fully embracing the culture and uniqueness of Louisiana; and WHEREAS, her research and work has focused on improving the public health, medical outcomes, economic security and mobility, and lives of people across the world, specifically Sub-Saharan Africa; and WHEREAS, the focus of her dissertation was family planning access and programing in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, improving women's access to essential medical services in that country, and specific programmatic recommendations to improve family planning services; and WHEREAS, she has been steadfast in her dedication to women in Louisiana and around the world, working with organizations across the globe; and WHEREAS, she merits the highest measure of commendation and most sincere congratulations on her outstanding accomplishments and her tireless commitment to bettering the lives of citizens around the world. Page 1 of 2 SCR NO. 90 ENROLLED THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Dr. Linnea Eitmann upon earning a Doctor of Philosophy in Global Health Management and Policy from Tulane University and does hereby record for posterity the pride and honor that she brings to her family, friends, community, and the state of Louisiana. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby wish her continued success and happiness in all future endeavors.
