SENATE BILL NO. 310

1	AN ACT
2 To enact R.S. 17:3911(B)(4)(f), relative to the collection and reporting of certain data
3 relative to students with an exceptionality; to provide relative to the failure of the
4 Department of Education to comply with certain data collection and reporting
5 requirements; to provide for a penalty for noncompliance; and to provide for related
6 matters.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1.  R.S. 17:3911(B)(4)(f) is hereby enacted to read as follows: 
9 ยง3911. Data collection system; establishment

14	(f) For any fiscal year in which the department fails to collect and report
15 the required data, the state treasurer shall withhold an amount equal to twenty-
16 five percent of the state general funds appropriated to the state Department of
17 Education through the general appropriations bill for "STATE ACTIVITIES"
18 which are allocated for travel expenses, until such time as the department
19 complies with the provisions of this Paragraph.

21 Section 2.  This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not
22 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature
23 by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana. If
