ENROLLED ACT No. 246 2019 Regular Session HOUSE BILL NO. 558 BY REPRESENTATIVE HODGES 1 AN ACT 2 To amend and reenact R.S. 38:90.2(A), relative to the Floodplain Evaluation and 3 Management Commission; to provide relative to the membership of the commission; 4 and to provide for related matters. 5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 6 Section 1. R.S. 38:90.2(A) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 7 ยง90.2. Revision of flood information database by the Floodplain Evaluation and 8 Management Commission 9 A. Provided that sufficient funds are specifically appropriated to the office, 10 no later than March 1, 2022, and at least once every five years thereafter, the 11 Floodplain Evaluation and Management Commission, consisting of the Department 12 of Transportation and Development, the Coastal Protection and Restoration 13 Authority, the office of community development, the Governor's Office of Homeland 14 Security and Emergency Preparedness, the Department of Environmental Quality, 15 a member of the Association of Levee Boards of Louisiana, a member from the 16 House Committee on Transportation, Highways and Public Works, a member from 17 the Senate Committee on Transportation, Highways, and Public Works, the chairman 18 of the Louisiana Soil and Water Conservation Commission or his designee, the 19 commissioner of agriculture and forestry or his designee, and the secretary of the 20 Department of Wildlife and Fisheries or his designee shall review and revise the 21 statewide flood information database. The secretary of the Department of 22 Transportation and Development or his designee shall serve as chairman of the 23 commission. The database will be developed for the purpose of the systematic 24 evaluation of drainage and flooding problems in the state. HB NO. 558 ENROLLED 1 review the development proposals in each area to ensure that no development in one 2 parish or municipality will have a negative or detrimental effect in any other parish 3 or municipality.
