1 AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 40:1379.3(N)(8) and to repeal R.S. 40:1379.3(U), relative to
3 concealed handgun permits; to provide relative to the authority of a concealed
4 handgun permit holder; to provide relative to the limitations on the authority of a
5 concealed handgun permit holder to carry in certain places; to authorize a concealed
6 handgun permit holder to carry a concealed handgun in a place of worship; and to
7 provide for related matters.
8 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
9 Section 1. R.S. 40:1379.3(N)(8) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
10 ยง1379.3. Statewide permits for concealed handguns; application procedures;

13 N. No concealed handgun may be carried into and no concealed handgun
14 permit issued pursuant to this Section shall authorize or entitle a permittee to carry
15 a concealed handgun in any of the following:

17 (8) Any church, synagogue, mosque, or other similar place of worship,
18 eligible for qualification as a tax-exempt organization under 26 U.S.C. 501, except
19 as provided for in Subsection U of this Section unless authorized by the person who

1 has authority over the administration of the church, synagogue, mosque, or other
2 similar place of worship.

4 Section 2. R.S. 40:1379.3(U) is hereby repealed.
