HOUSE BILL NO. 435

1	AN ACT
2 To amend and reenact R.S. 27:402(18) and 405(C)(1) through (5), relative to video draw
3 poker devices; to provide relative to the definition of video draw poker; to provide
4 relative to the games offered by video draw poker devices; to provide relative to the
5 method of operation of the games of video draw poker or card games; and to provide
6 for related matters.
7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
8 Section 1.  R.S. 27:402(18) and 405(C)(1) through (5) are hereby amended and
9 reenacted to read as follows: 
10 §402.  Definitions
11	As used in this Chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the
12 following meanings unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:

14	(18)  "Video draw poker" means any card game approved by the division that
15 utilizes one deck or more decks of cards per hand with multiple hands permitted per
16 game.

20	C.  Each video draw poker device shall offer the game of draw poker or such
21 other card games as are approved by the division and have the following method of
22 operation:

1	(1)  The cards must shall be shuffled after each hand is dealt.
2	(2)  Each hand must shall utilize a deck one or more decks of cards consisting
3 of fifty-two standard playing cards each, and up to two jokers per deck may also be
4 used.  The deck must decks shall be shuffled by use of a random number generator
5 to exchange each card in the a deck with another randomly selected card.
6	(3)  After shuffling, a required number of cards must shall be dealt from the
7 top of the a deck.
8	(4)  Any discarded cards must shall be replaced by remaining cards in the a
9 deck, starting with the next subsequent card and using the cards in the order of the
10 deck.
11	(5)  The game must shall display the hands for which won games or credits
12 will be awarded and the number of won games or credits for each hand, not to
13 exceed the value of one thousand dollars.
