HLS 22RS-65 ENGROSSED 2022 Regular Session HOUSE BILL NO. 425 BY REPRESENTATIVE BAGLEY MEDICAL MARIJUANA: Provides relative to the number of marijuana pharmacies in the state 1 AN ACT 2To amend and reenact R.S. 40:1046(G), relative to the number of marijuana pharmacies in 3 the state; to increase the number of specialty licenses for marijuana pharmacies; and 4 to provide for related matters. 5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana: 6 Section 1. R.S. 40:1046(G) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 7 ยง1046. Recommendation and dispensing of marijuana for therapeutic use; rules and 8 regulations of the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and 9 Louisiana Board of Pharmacy; production facility licensing by the 10 Department of Agriculture and Forestry 11 * * * 12 G. The Louisiana Board of Pharmacy shall develop an annual, 13 nontransferable specialty license for a pharmacy to dispense recommended 14 marijuana for therapeutic use and shall limit the number of such licenses granted in 15 the state to no more than ten twenty licensees. Present law provides that the La. Board of Pharmacy shall develop a specialty license for pharmacies dispensing marijuana for therapeutic use. Present law limits the number of such licenses granted in the state to no more than 10 licenses. Proposed law changes the limit on the number of licenses from no more than 10 to no more than 20 licenses.
