SUPPLEMENTAL PAY: Provides relative to supplemental pay for tribal officers of the
Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana
1 AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 40:1667.1(F)(2), relative to supplemental pay for tribal officers
3 of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana; to increase the number of tribal officers
4 eligible for supplemental pay; to provide for an effective date; and to provide for
5 related matters.
6Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
7 Section 1. R.S. 40:1667.1(F)(2) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:
8 ยง1667.1. Rate of compensation; prior service; supplemental monthly compensation;
9 police to receive additional compensation

13 (2) Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the
14 compensation for tribal officers of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana shall be for
15 no more than thirteen twenty such law enforcement officers.

17 Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2023.

Abstract: Increases the number of tribal officers of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of La. that are
eligible for supplemental pay from 13 to 20.
Present law provides for supplemental pay of $500 per month for any full-time police officer
paid by any municipality or by the Chitimacha Tribe of La., Coushatta Tribe of La., or the
Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of La. that has passed a council-certified training program and
completed one year of service.
Present law limits the number of tribal officers from the Chitimacha Tribe, Coushatta Tribe,
and the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe that are eligible for supplemental pay.
Proposed law increases the number of eligible tribal officers of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe from
13 to 20.
Effective July 1, 2023.
