PSYCHOLOGISTS:  Provides relative to psychologists
1	AN ACT
2To amend and reenact R.S. 37:2352(9), relative to psychologists; to clarify who may be
3 identified as a psychologist; to omit certain persons from identifying as
4 psychologists; and to provide for related matters.
5Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:
6 Section 1.  R.S. 37:2352(9) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 
7 ยงยง2352.  Definition of terms
8	As used in this Chapter, the following terms have the meaning ascribed in
9 this Section:

11	(9)  "Psychologist" means any person licensed as a psychologist in
12 accordance with the provisions of this Chapter.  A person represents himself to be
13 a psychologist by using any title or description of services incorporating the words
14 "psychology", "psychological", or "psychologist" , or by using any other terms which
15 imply that he is qualified to practice psychology or that he possesses expert
16 qualification in any area of psychology, or if that person offers to the public or
17 renders to individuals or to groups of individuals services defined as the practice of
18 psychology in this Chapter.

Abstract: Clarifies who may be identified as a psychologist. 
Present law defines the term "psychologist".
Present law includes persons who represent themselves as psychologists by using any title
or description of services incorporating the words "psychology", "psychological", or
"psychologist" in the definition of "psychologist".
Proposed law removes the term "psychological" from the definition and otherwise retains
present law.

Summary of Amendments Adopted by House
The House Floor Amendments to the engrossed bill:
1. Restore the term "psychology" within the present law definition of
"psychologist" and otherwise retain present law. 
2. Make technical corrections.
