An Act relative to the leasing of accessory dwelling units.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 Subsection (7) of section 4 of chapter 151B of the General Laws, as appearing in the 
22020 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the word “residence”, in line 387, 
3the following words:- except when such owner is leasing an accessory dwelling unit as defined 
4in section 1A of chapter 40A; provided that the owner may as a preference, lease such unit to an 
5immediate family member of the owner; provided, that if no such person leases the unit this 
6subsection shall apply.
