29 | 29 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |

30 | 30 | | of the same, as follows: |

31 | 31 | | 1 SECTION XXX. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the |
---|
32 | 32 | | 2Secretary of the Executive office of Public Safety, in consultation with the Judiciary and the |
---|
33 | 33 | | 3Trial Court, shall make recommendations for the protection of the families of victims of violent |
---|
34 | 34 | | 4crime, both in and outside of court, from intimidation and taunting. The report may make |
---|
35 | 35 | | 5recommendations for civil or criminal penalties. The Secretary shall file these recommendations |
---|
36 | 36 | | 6with the House and Senate Chairs of the Joint Committee on Judiciary and the Clerks of the |
---|
37 | 37 | | 7House and Senate on or before January 15, 2024. |
