[SIMILAR MATTER FILED IN PREVIOUS SESSION SEE HOUSE, NO. 1674 OF 2021-2022.] The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Third General Court (2023-2024) _______________ An Act relative to the protection of the families of violent crime from intimidation. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION XXX. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the 2Secretary of the Executive office of Public Safety, in consultation with the Judiciary and the 3Trial Court, shall make recommendations for the protection of the families of victims of violent 4crime, both in and outside of court, from intimidation and taunting. The report may make 5recommendations for civil or criminal penalties. The Secretary shall file these recommendations 6with the House and Senate Chairs of the Joint Committee on Judiciary and the Clerks of the 7House and Senate on or before January 15, 2024.
