An Act relative to non-medical healthcare expenses related to prevention of disease.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 Chapter 111 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 228 the 
2following section:-
3 Section 228A. (a) No health care provider shall charge a patient for non-medical 
4expenses related to prevention of disease, including but not limited to: (1) personal protective 
5equipment worn by a health care provider during a medical procedure or in-person visit and (2) 
6increased cleaning and sterilization costs.
7 (b) The department shall promulgate regulations to implement this section.
