27 | 27 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
28 | 28 | | of the same, as follows: |
---|
29 | 29 | | 1 SECTION 1. Subsection (b) of section 18B of chapter 6A, as appearing in the 2020 |
---|
30 | 30 | | 2Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the figure "11" and inserting in place thereof |
---|
31 | 31 | | 3the following figure:- “13”. |
---|
32 | 32 | | 4 SECTION 2. Said subsection (b) of section 18B of chapter 6A, as so appearing, is |
---|
33 | 33 | | 5hereby amended in line 42, by inserting after the words “Massachusetts Ambulance Association” |
---|
34 | 34 | | 6the following words:- “, 1 of whom shall be a physician with a specialty in emergency |
---|
35 | 35 | | 7medicine”; |
---|
36 | 36 | | 8 and further in lines 42 through 44, by striking out “and 1 of whom shall be a manager or |

37 | 37 | | 9supervisor of a PSAP and a nominated representative of the Massachusetts Communication |

44 | 44 | | 16 SECTION 3. Subsection (g) of said section 18B of said chapter 6A, as so appearing, is |

45 | 45 | | 17hereby amended by adding the following sentence:- |

46 | 46 | | 18 The commission shall establish rules requiring PSAPs to complete quality assurance and |
---|
47 | 47 | | 19quality improvement (QA/QI) processes for their telecommunicator CPR instructions, in |
---|
48 | 48 | | 20accordance with nationally recognized standards, and provide procedures to report annually to |
---|
49 | 49 | | 21the commission compliance and may adjust state grant or shared revenue amounts based on |
---|
50 | 50 | | 22failure to comply with such rules. |
---|
51 | 51 | | 23 SECTION 4. Section 12V ½ of chapter 112, as so appearing, is hereby amended by |
---|
52 | 52 | | 24adding the following in subsections:- |
---|
53 | 53 | | 25 (d) Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, an AED registry shall be |
---|
54 | 54 | | 26established for the purpose of allowing local 911 telecommunicator to locate accessible AEDs. |
---|
55 | 55 | | 27Any AED used in a public access defibrillation program shall register the device through the |
---|
56 | 56 | | 28PSAP medical control director (MCD). |
---|
57 | 57 | | 29 (e) Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, signage located |
---|
58 | 58 | | 30throughout buildings shall clearly indicate AED locations. |
---|
59 | 59 | | 31 SECTION 5. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the department |
---|
60 | 60 | | 32of public health shall include sudden cardiac arrest as a reportable disease. |
---|
