| 27 | 27 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | of the same, as follows: |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 1 SECTION 1. (a) Notwithstanding section 12 of chapter 32 of the General Laws or any |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 2other general or special law to the contrary, the Massachusetts State Retirement Board shall |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 3provide to Carrie Duff, the surviving beneficiary of former Massachusetts Department of |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 4Corrections employee William Manduca, a lifetime, monthly allowance equal to the amount she |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 5would receive as if William Manduca had, upon retirement, elected option (d) of subdivision (2) |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | 6of said section 12 of said chapter 32 and nominated Carrie Duff as his sole surviving eligible |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 7beneficiary. The allowance shall be payable as of the date of William Manduca’s death. |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 8 (b) Any retirement benefit provided to Carrie Duff pursuant to this act shall be in lieu of, |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | 9and not in addition to, any benefits she may have otherwise received from the Massachusetts |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | 10State Employees Retirement System as William Manduca’s beneficiary. |
