30 | 30 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
31 | 31 | | of the same, as follows: |

32 | 32 | | 1 SECTION 1. There is hereby established a special commission to study pension reform in |
---|
33 | 33 | | 2the commonwealth. Said commission is hereby authorized and directed to conduct an |
---|
34 | 34 | | 3investigation into the feasibility of replacing the commonwealth’s defined benefit pension plan |
---|
35 | 35 | | 4with a defined contribution plan for future employees. The special commission shall submit a |
---|
36 | 36 | | 5report to the governor, the speaker of the house of representatives, the senate president, and the |
---|
37 | 37 | | 6chief justice of the supreme judicial court setting forth the special commission’s findings, along |
---|
38 | 38 | | 7with its recommendations and specific legislative proposals, no later than one year after the |
---|
39 | 39 | | 8special commission’s appointment. The special commission shall dissolve upon completion of |
---|
40 | 40 | | 9its duties and obligations, as indicated by submission of its findings and recommendations. |
