2828 An Act to create the American Revolution anniversary public safety and operations fund.
2929 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
3030 of the same, as follows:
3131 1 SECTION 1. (a) There is hereby established and set up on the books of the
3232 2commonwealth a separate fund to be known as the 250th American Revolution Anniversary
3333 3Public Safety and Operations Fund, in this section called the fund. The comptroller shall transfer
3434 4to the fund an amount no greater than $1,000,000 from the Federal COVID-19 Response Fund
3535 5established in section 2JJJJJ of chapter 29 of the Massachusetts General Laws, to provide
3636 6support for the municipalities of Lexington and Concord for state- and federal-level security
3737 7protections and operational support pertaining to the extensive commemorative events of the
3838 8250th American Revolution Anniversary to occur throughout 2025-2026.
3939 9 (b) Amounts credited to the fund shall not be subject to further appropriation and money
4040 10remaining in the fund at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the General Fund and shall be 2 of 2
4141 11available for expenditure in the subsequent fiscal year. The fund will expire on December 31st,
4242 122026, and all remaining credits shall be remitted to the General Fund.
