An Act providing for a MassPort airline regulation study.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. The Massachusetts Port Authority shall commission a study of the 
2regulation of airlines doing business in the commonwealth. The study shall examine the possible 
3legal implications of imposing certain regulations on airlines, including, but not limited to, 
4requiring airlines to provide lodging, new flights or other compensation to customers in the event 
5of a flight’s cancellation.
6 SECTION 2. The Massachusetts Port Authority shall file a report, including its findings 
7on the possible legal implications of imposing regulations on airlines doing business in the 
8commonwealth, with the clerks of the house of representatives and the senate and the joint 
9committee on transportation no later than January 1, 2025.
