Elliott that the Massachusetts School Building Authority reimburse the city of Lowell for high school renovation project construction costs. Education. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Third General Court (2023-2024) _______________ An Act relative to funding of school construction projects. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 10 of chapter 70B of the General Laws, or any 2other general or special law or regulation to the contrary, the Massachusetts school building 3authority shall reimburse the city of Lowell $38.5 million its high school renovation project 4construction costs, to compensate for cost overruns resulting from increased supply chain costs 5related to the COVID-19 pandemic. 6 SECTION 2. The grant required by section 1 shall not count towards the total limit on the 7estimated amount of grants approved by the Massachusetts school building authority pursuant to 8section 7 of chapter 70B of the General Laws.
