2121 An Act authorizing the town of Mansfield to grant an additional license for the sale of all
2222 alcoholic beverages not to be drunk on the premises.
2323 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2424 of the same, as follows:
2525 1 SECTION 1. (a) Notwithstanding section 17 of chapter 138 of the General Laws, the
2626 2licensing authority of the town of Mansfield may grant one additional license for the sale of all
2727 3alcoholic beverages not to be drunk on the premises pursuant to section 15 of said chapter 138 to
2828 4Jay Amruta Corporation, d/b/a Mansfield Liquor Market, located at the Reservoir Landing, 30
2929 5Reservoir Street, in the town. The license granted pursuant to this act shall be subject to all of
3030 6said chapter 138 except said section 17.
3131 7 (b) The licensing authority shall not approve the transfer of a license granted pursuant to
3232 8this act to any other location, but it may grant the license to a new applicant at the same location
3333 9if the applicant files with the licensing authority a letter from the department of revenue and a
3434 10letter from the department of unemployment assistance indicating the license is in good standing
3535 11with those departments and that all applicable taxes, fees, and contributions have been paid.
3636 12 (c) If the licensee terminates or fails to renew the license granted under this act, or if such
3737 13license is revoked or no longer in use, it shall be returned physically, with all of the legal rights 2 of 2
3838 14and privileges pertaining thereto, to the licensing authority, which may, within 3 years after such
3939 15return, then grant the license to a new applicant at the same location and under the same
4040 16conditions as specified in this act, otherwise such license shall dissolve.
4141 17 (d) The license granted under this act shall be issued within 2 years after the effective
4242 18date of this act; provided, however, that if the license is originally granted within that time
4343 19period, it may be granted to a new applicant under subsections (b), and (c) thereafter.
4444 20 SECTION 2: This act shall take effect upon its passage.
