The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Third General Court (2023-2024) _______________ An Act relative to dental hygienist reciprocal licensure. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 Section 51 of chapter 112 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, 2is hereby amended by inserting after the third paragraph, the following paragraph:- 3 The board may, without examination upon payment of a fee determined annually by the 4commissioner of administration under the provision of section three B of chapter seven, register 5and issue a dental hygienist license to a dentist who has been lawfully in practice for at least five 6years in another state, country, or province if he presents to the board a certificate of registration 7and duration of practice from an out-of-state board of dental examiners or other like registration 8entity of such state, country, or province; provided, that such other jurisdiction shall require a 9degree of competency as determined by the board equal to that required of applicants in this 10commonwealth.
