By Representative Kane of Shrewsbury and Senator Moore, a joint petition (accompanied by 
bill, House, No. 3906) of Hannah Kane and Michael O. Moore (by vote of the town) that the 
town of Shrewsbury be authorized to grant abatement of certain real estate taxes for the daughter 
of fallen firefighter Christopher Roy.  Revenue. [Local Approval Received.]

An Act authorizing the town of Shrewsbury to grant abatement of real estate taxes for the 
daughter of fallen firefighter Christopher Roy.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding Section 5 of Chapter 59 of the general laws or any general 
2or special law to the contrary, the Board of Assessors of the Town of Shrewsbury shall grant 
3abatement of the real estate taxes assessed for tax years 2024 through 2036, inclusive, upon real 
4property that is (i) the domicile of Ava Roy, the surviving daughter of Christopher Roy, a 
5firefighter killed in the line of duty; and (ii) owned by and occupied as the domicile of the 
6guardian, trustee, conservator, adoptive parent or other fiduciary for Ava Roy.
7 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
