An Act granting an additional liquor license for the sale of all alcoholic beverages to be drunk on 
the premises in the town of Chatham.

By Representative Peake of Provincetown and Senator Cyr, a joint petition (accompanied by bill, 
House, No. 3968) of Sarah K. Peake and Julian Cyr (by vote of the town) that the town of 
Chatham be authorized to grant an additional liquor license for the sale of all alcoholic beverages 
to be drunk on the premises in said town. Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure.

An Act granting an additional liquor license for the sale of all alcoholic beverages to be drunk on 
the premises in the town of Chatham.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 17 of chapter 138 of the General Laws or any 
2other general or special law to the contrary, the licensing authority of the town of Chatham may 
3grant an additional license 	for the sale of all alcoholic beverages to be drunk on the premises, 
4under section 12 of said chapter 138, at Pate’s Restaurant located at 1260 Main Street. The 
5license shall be subject to all provisions of said chapter 138, except said section 17. 
6 The licensing authority shall not approve the transfer of the license to any other location, 
7but it may grant the license to a new applicant at the same location if the applicant files with the 
8licensing authority a letter from the department of revenue indicating that the license if in good 
9standing with the department and that all applicable taxes have been paid.  2 of 2
10 If the license granted under this act is cancelled, revoked or no longer in use, it shall be 
11returned physically, with all legal rights, privileges and restrictions pertaining thereto, to the 
12licensing authority and the licensing authority may then grant the license to a new applicant at 
13the same location under the same conditions as specified in this act. 
14 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
