| 29 | 29 | | of the same, as follows: |

| 30 | 30 | | 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 8C of chapter 40 of the General Laws, the Select |

| 31 | 31 | | 2Board of the Town of Mattapoisett may appoint two alternate members of the Conservation |

| 32 | 32 | | 3Commission of the Town for staggered terms not to exceed 3 years. |

| 33 | 33 | | 4 SECTION 2. The Chair of the Conservation Commission of the Town of Mattapoisett |

| 34 | 34 | | 5may designate any of the alternate members to sit on the Commission in the case of absence, |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | 6inability to act or conflict of interest on the part of a member of the Commission or, in the event |

| 36 | 36 | | 7of a vacancy on the Conservation Commission, until the vacancy is filled in accordance with |
