[Local Approval Received.] The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Third General Court (2023-2024) _______________ An Act providing for alternate members of the Mattapoisett conservation commission. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding section 8C of chapter 40 of the General Laws, the Select 2Board of the Town of Mattapoisett may appoint two alternate members of the Conservation 3Commission of the Town for staggered terms not to exceed 3 years. 4 SECTION 2. The Chair of the Conservation Commission of the Town of Mattapoisett 5may designate any of the alternate members to sit on the Commission in the case of absence, 6inability to act or conflict of interest on the part of a member of the Commission or, in the event 7of a vacancy on the Conservation Commission, until the vacancy is filled in accordance with 8section 8C of chapter 40 of the General Laws. 9 SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
