2121 An Act granting an additional liquor license for the sale of all alcoholic beverages to be drunk on
2222 the premises in the town of Chatham.
2323 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority
2424 of the same, as follows:
2525 1 SECTION 1. (a) Notwithstanding sections 17 and 17A of chapter 138 of the General
2626 2Laws, the licensing authority of the town of Chatham may convert 1 seasonal license for the sale
2727 3of all alcoholic beverages to be drunk on the premises, under section 12 of said chapter 138,
2828 4currently issued to Pate’s Restaurant located at 1260 Main Street to an annual license for the sale
2929 5of all alcoholic beverages to be drunk on the premises under said section 12 of said chapter 138
3030 6to Pate’s Restaurant for use at 1260 Main Street in the town. The license converted under this
3131 7section shall be subject to all provisions of said chapter 138, except said sections 17 and 17A.
3232 8 (b) A license converted under this section shall only be exercised in the dining room of a
3333 9common victualler and such other public rooms or areas as may be deemed reasonable and
3434 10appropriate by the licensing authority as certified in writing.
3535 11 (c) The licensing authority shall not approve the transfer of the license converted
3636 12pursuant to this section to any other location, but it may grant the license to a new applicant at
3737 13the same location if the applicant files with the licensing authority a letter from the department of 2 of 2
3838 14revenue and a letter from the department of unemployment assistance indicating that the license
3939 15if in good standing with those departments and that all applicable taxes, fees, and contributions
4040 16have been paid.
4141 17 (d) If the license converted under this act is cancelled, revoked or no longer in use at the
4242 18location of original issuance, it shall be returned physically, with all legal rights, privileges and
4343 19restrictions pertaining thereto, to the licensing authority which may then, within 3 years grant the
4444 20license to a new applicant at the same location under the same conditions as specified in this act,
4545 21otherwise such license shall dissolve.
4646 22 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
