No. 4195 The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Third General Court (2023-2024) _______________ An Act authorizing the town of Chesterfield to continue the employment of reserve special police officer Greg Smith. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Greg Smith, a 2member of the Chesterfield police department, may continue to serve as a reserve special police 3officer until he reaches 70 years of age or the date of his retirement or until his non- 4reappointment, whichever occurs first, and no further deductions shall be made from the regular 5compensation of Greg Smith in connection with his service to the town for retirement or pension 6purposes pursuant to chapter 32 of the General Laws for any service subsequent to Greg Smith 7reaching the age of 65. 8 SECTION 2: Notwithstanding section 1, Greg Smith shall be subject to chapter 6E of 9General Laws and section 96B of chapter 41 of the General Laws for the duration of his 10employment pursuant to this act. 11 SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
