| 22 | 22 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of the same, as follows: |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Steven Traver, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | 2chief of the fire department of the town of West Stockbridge, may continue to serve in his |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | 3position, subject to approval by the select board of the town of West Stockbridge, until |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | 4December 31, 2024, the date of his retirement or the select board votes not to reappoint him to |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | 5his position, whichever occurs first; provided, however, that he is mentally and physically |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | 6capable of performing the duties of his position. The select board may require that Steven Traver |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | 7be examined by an impartial physician designated by the select board to determine his mental |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | 8and physical capability. Deductions shall continue to be made from the regular compensation of |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | 9Steven Traver under chapter 32 of the General Laws, while he is employed as chief of the fire |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 10department of the town of West Stockbridge in accordance with all applicable laws. |

| 34 | 34 | | 11 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage. |
