27 | 27 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
28 | 28 | | of the same, as follows: |

29 | 29 | | 1 An Act relative to the Greater Lawrence Regional Vocational Technical high school. |

30 | 30 | | 2 SECTION 1. Chapter 330 of the acts of 1960 is hereby amended by striking out section 4 |
---|
31 | 31 | | 3and inserting in place thereof the following section:- |
---|
32 | 32 | | 4 Section 4. Notwithstanding section 3 of chapter 40 of the General Laws, section 14C of |
---|
33 | 33 | | 5chapter 71 of the General Laws and any other general or special law to the contrary, the |
---|
34 | 34 | | 6agreement made under section 3 of this act, or any amendment to such an agreement, may |
---|
35 | 35 | | 7contain provisions authorizing any member municipality to sell, lease or grant a license to use |
---|
36 | 36 | | 8any building and any land appurtenant thereto or used in connection therewith to the regional |
---|
37 | 37 | | 9school district, and any such municipality may authorize such sale, lease or license accordingly. |
---|
38 | 38 | | 10In case of a sale, the price and time or times of payment and the method by which the |
---|
39 | 39 | | 11municipalities other than the selling municipality shall be assessed for such payment shall be set |
---|
40 | 40 | | 12forth in the agreement or amendment; but in no case shall payments be made which shall extend 2 of 2 |
---|
41 | 41 | | 13over a period in excess of 20 years. In the case of a lease or license to use the rental or license fee |
---|
42 | 42 | | 14and terms of payment and assessment shall be set forth in the agreement or amendment. The |
---|
43 | 43 | | 15lease or license to use may be for a term or period not in excess of 20 years, and may contain |
---|
44 | 44 | | 16provisions for the extension of the lease or license to use for an additional term or period not in |
---|
45 | 45 | | 17excess of 20 years, at the option of the regional district school committee. |

46 | 46 | | 18 SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage. |
