Mark (by vote of the town) for legislation to exempt the town of Hancock from certain provisions of the school choice laws. Education. [Local Approval Received.] The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Third General Court (2023-2024) _______________ An Act exempting Hancock Schools. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, subsection (k) 2of section 12B of chapter 76 of the General Laws, shall not apply to public schools in the town of 3Hancock. 4 SECTION 2. Nothing in this act shall prevent public schools in the town of Hancock to 5continue to participate in the school choice program under section 12B of chapter 76 of the 6General Laws after the effective date of this act. 7 SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
