33 | 33 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
34 | 34 | | of the same, as follows: |
---|
35 | 35 | | 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, Glen Everett, a |
---|
36 | 36 | | 2member of the fire department of the town of Williamsburg, who would be subject to mandatory |
---|
37 | 37 | | 3retirement on the last day of the month in which he turns 65 years old, may continue to serve in |
---|
38 | 38 | | 4such a position until 06/25/2029, or until the date of his retirement, or the date he is relieved of |
---|
39 | 39 | | 5his duties by the Town, whichever occurs first; provided however, that no deductions shall be |
---|
40 | 40 | | 6made from the regular compensation of Glen Everett pursuant to Chapter 32 of the General Laws |
---|
41 | 41 | | 7for any service subsequent to him reaching the age of 65 in connection with his service to the |
---|
42 | 42 | | 8Town for retirement purposes; provided further, that he is mentally and physically capable of |
---|
43 | 43 | | 9performing the duties of his office; provided further, that the Town may at its own expense |
---|
44 | 44 | | 10require that Glen Everett be examined by an impartial physician designated by the Town to |
---|
45 | 45 | | 11determine such capability; and provided further, that Glen Everett shall, upon retirement, receive 2 of 2 |
---|
46 | 46 | | 12a superannuation retirement allowance equal to that which he would have been entitled had he |
---|
47 | 47 | | 13retired at the age of 65. |
---|
48 | 48 | | 14 (b) Notwithstanding section 1, Glen Everett shall be subject to chapter 6E of the General |
---|
49 | 49 | | 15Laws and section 96B of chapter 41 of the General Laws for the duration of his employment |
---|
50 | 50 | | 16pursuant to this act. |
---|
51 | 51 | | 17 Section 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage. |
---|
