The Commonwealth of Massachusetts _______________ In the One Hundred and Ninety-Third General Court (2023-2024) _______________ An Act to establish de-escalation training in student transportation. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 Section 8A of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2020 Official Edition, 2is hereby amended by inserting after the second paragraph the following paragraph:- There shall 3be training relative to de-escalation tactics and techniques approved by the commissioner of 4education required for all school bus operators. If employed, the operator’s employer shall pay 5for the cost of the de-escalation training.
