27 | 27 | | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority |
---|
28 | 28 | | of the same, as follows: |
---|
29 | 29 | | 1 SECTION 1. Notwithstanding chapter 32B of the General Laws or any other general or |
---|
30 | 30 | | 2special law to the contrary, an elected or appointed official of the town of Blackstone who |
---|
31 | 31 | | 3receives a stipend shall not be eligible for participation in the town’s contributory health and life |
---|
32 | 32 | | 4insurance plans unless the official pays to the town 100 percent of the cost of participation in the |
---|
33 | 33 | | 5plans, plus any administrative costs that may be assessed by the Board of Selectmen. |
---|
34 | 34 | | 6 SECTION 2. Notwithstanding Section 1, the Town Clerk and Treasurer-Collector shall |
---|
35 | 35 | | 7remain eligible for participation in the town’s contributory health and life insurance plans at the |
---|
36 | 36 | | 8same rate of contribution as nonunion employees of the Town. |
---|
37 | 37 | | 9 SECTION 3. Section 1 shall apply starting with the successor to each incumbent stipend |
---|
38 | 38 | | 10elected or appointed official at the time this act takes effect and shall not affect the eligibility or |
---|
39 | 39 | | 11contribution rate for any current stipend elected or appointed officials of the Town of Blackstone 2 of 2 |
---|
40 | 40 | | 12for the Town’s contributory health and life insurance plans so long as such officials hold their |
---|
41 | 41 | | 13current position. |

42 | 42 | | 14 SECTION 4. This act shall take effect upon its passage. |
