An Act authorizing municipalities to use funds for flood control infrastructure and floodplain 
preservation.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority 
of the same, as follows:
1 Subsection (c) of section 5 of chapter 44B of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2022 
2Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the words “support of community 
3housing;” the following words:- for the rehabilitation or restoration of historical or recreational 
4projects that are acquired or created prior to 2000, including but not limited to, flood control 
5infrastructures, floodplain preservation;
6 Subsection (c) of section 5 of chapter 44B of the General Laws, is hereby amended by 
7inserting after the words “shall not be used for” the following words;- regular upkeep and 
8general.
